How to Reset Your JK BMS Password
Published July 22, 2026 · 4 min read · JKVOLT Support Team
Forgetting your JK BMS Bluetooth app password can be frustrating — especially when you need to check your battery status or adjust settings. Unlike many consumer apps, JK BMS does not offer a public "Forgot Password" button for security reasons.
This guide will walk you through the exact steps to safely reset your JK BMS password.
Why Can't I Just Reset It Myself?
JK BMS devices are installed in battery systems that can handle high currents (up to 300A) and store significant energy. If anyone could reset the password without authorization, it would create a serious safety risk. That is why JK BMS uses a temporary password system — only the original seller can issue a valid one-time reset code tied to your specific BMS unit.
Step-by-Step Password Reset Process
Find Your BMS Serial Number
Open the JK Smart BMS app and check the Device Info page, or look at the physical sticker on your BMS board. You will need the 12-16 digit serial number (S/N).
Contact Your Original Seller
Reach out to the store or platform where you purchased your JK BMS. Only the original seller can generate a valid temporary password for your device. Provide them with your:
- Order number
- BMS serial number
- JK Smart BMS app screenshot (showing the lock screen)
Receive the Temporary Password
The seller will provide you with a one-time temporary password valid for a limited time (usually 24-48 hours). This password is unique to your BMS unit and cannot be reused.
Enter the Temporary Password
Open the JK Smart BMS app → tap on the locked device → enter the temporary password → tap "Unlock".
Set a New Password
After successful unlock, the app will prompt you to set a new password. Choose something memorable but secure. Write it down somewhere safe!
💡 Tip: After resetting, go to Settings → User Management in the JK Smart BMS app and add a secondary password hint (if supported by your firmware version). This helps you avoid this situation in the future.
What If I Didn't Buy From JKVOLT?
If you purchased your JK BMS from another platform (Amazon, AliExpress, eBay, or another distributor), you must contact that specific seller for the temporary password. JKVOLT can only issue temporary passwords for units purchased directly from our store.
Where to Request Your Temporary Password
| Purchased From | How to Request | What to Provide |
|---|---|---|
| JKVOLT (jkvolt.com) | Contact us via the form below | Order # & S/N |
| Amazon / AliExpress / eBay | Message the seller via the platform | Order #, S/N, screenshot |
| Local distributor | Email or call your distributor | Invoice & S/N |

⚠️ Important: Never share your BMS serial number publicly (forums, social media). Malicious actors could use it to attempt unauthorized access to your battery system.
Frequently Asked Questions
If you purchased from a reseller, ask them to contact the original distributor. If you bought it from a private party, you will need to trace back to the original seller or purchase a new BMS unit.
Most sellers respond within 1-2 business days. At JKVOLT, we typically process password reset requests within 24 hours during working days.
No. The password reset only changes the access credential. All your BMS configuration parameters (voltage thresholds, current limits, balancing settings) remain intact.
No. Each temporary password is a one-time use code. If you forget your new password again, you will need to request a new temporary password.
The serial number is printed on a white label on the BMS board itself, usually near the Bluetooth module or the main chip. If you cannot access the board, check your original packaging box — the serial number may be printed on the box label.
Prevent It From Happening Again
- Write it down — Store your password in a password manager or a physical notebook near your battery system.
- Use a memorable pattern — Combine numbers and letters you can recall easily (avoid special characters that are hard to type on mobile).
- Set a secondary user — Some JK BMS firmware versions allow you to add a second user account with lower privileges. Use this for daily monitoring and keep the admin password locked away.
- Keep your order info — Save your order confirmation email. It contains the proof of purchase needed to request a temporary password quickly.
